What goods do you stock?
Generally we do not stock any items, but we often have a few Appliances and miscellaneous items on hand. Please visit our "What's in Stock" page for details on our Inventory. Most other goods are purchased specifically for our customers.
What items can you get?
Our website provides links to the manufacturers we work with most frequently, however we will try to quote on just about anything. Give us as many details on the item(s) you are interested in and we will work hard to quote you the best price.
How long does it take to receive goods?
Delivery times vary depending on the specific item and we include estimated timeframes in our Quotations. Generally Appliances take 3 to 5 weeks and Plumbing Fixtures & Faucets can take only 2 to 4 weeks if the items are in stock. If Plumbing items need to be ordered, the estimated US lead time is usually 4 to 6 weeks.
How do I order an item?

Are the prices on the manufacturer websites your prices?
No. Manufacturers sometimes provide "Suggested Retail Prices" but because we purchase at stateside wholesale prices and include landed costs to Bermuda in our quotes, the listed prices have no bearing on our pricing. There is no set proportionate amount because "MSRP's" are not consistent from vendor to vendor.
How do I decide on specific Appliances when there are so many choices?
You should do some research and review the manufacturers' websites carefully. If you need several quotes to compare specific models, we would be happy to provide as many variations you require to make your decision. Feel free to call or email with any questions and if we do not know the answer, we will do our best to find out!
What costs are included in your Quotations?
In most cases all costs associated with getting the goods to Bermuda are included in our Quotations except for local trucking. We do not estimate transportation charges for goods that need to be FedEx'd to Bermuda. Charges provided in our landed Quotations include Cost of Goods, US and Ocean Freight, HMC Duty, Insurance, Customs Clearance and Documentation Fees.
Would my order be Insured?
Yes. All orders are insured until they are delivered to our customers. Cost of Insurance is included in our Quotations. Any hidden damages on goods must be reported to Joshua Bate Trading Bermuda Ltd. within 3 business days of delivery for Insurance to cover cost of repair or replacement.
Do you provide Delivery?
Yes, we arrange delivery through Fast Forward. They contact our customers directly to schedule trucking as soon as the goods are cleared.
How much will my Delivery cost?
Trucking charges are determined by Fast Forward after they complete the delivery. Their charges are the standard $85 per hour and the cost of delivery increases depending on the location, obstacles (ladders, stairs, awkward entries, etc.), requirements (unpacking, removal of old appliances, etc.) and any other time or labor intensive duties. Typically, most deliveries average between $85 and $170. Unusually heavy or large items which require 4 men instead of 2 will be charged $170 per hour for delivery. There is also a $30 Disposal fee for metal items to be disposed.
Will you take away old Appliances when you deliver my new ones?
Yes, and it will increase your delivery fee. When Fast Forward calls to schedule trucking, let them know you will need to have old Appliances removed and disposed.
May I pick-up my order?
Yes you may! Pick-up must be scheduled in advance to be made at Fast Forward's warehouse between 1 pm and 2 pm and the fee is only $20.
How do I pay for my order?
We accept Cash or Check in US or Bda Dollars. You may also pay by electronic transfer. Email us at josh@bate.bm and we will send you the necessary details for electronic payments.
Do electrical cords come with Appliances?
Not always. And because there are so many different types of outlets in Bermuda, we do not specify. If you are replacing an existing Appliance, we suggest you inspect your current cords for wear and tear, and if they appear like new, use them on your new Appliances. If you need electrical cords, make a "rubbing" of your outlet to bring to the hardware store to be sure you purchase the correct style for your home.
Do you install any items?
We can arrange Installation of Appliances, and rates vary depending on the technician.
Do you provide Warranties on any goods?
We sure do! Please review our "Services' page for details on Warranties.
How do I arrange service on my item that is still under Warranty?
Please call our Service Office at 236-8194 to arrange service if you believe your item is still covered within the Warranty timeframe.
Should I pay you after I find out what the trucking charges are from Fast Forward?
After Fast Forward delivers your goods, they notify us of your trucking charges and we will send a Final Invoice to you for any balance due plus delivery. You do not need to pay us until you receive our Final Invoice.
